With the rapid development of e-commerce, the timeliness and accuracy of logistics delivery have become critical factors in determining customer satisfaction and loyalty. This study examines the performance of purchasing platforms (such as personal shopping agents or overseas purchasing platforms) and traditional e-commerce shopping platforms (like Amazon, Taobao, and JD.com) in terms of delivery efficiency and accuracy.
The rise of global e-commerce has revolutionized the way consumers shop. Platforms like Amazon have set high standards for delivery speed and accuracy, while purchasing platforms, which often involve cross-border logistics, face unique challenges. This research aims to compare the logistics performance of these two types of platforms.
Data was collected from 500 customers who have used both purchasing platforms and traditional e-commerce platforms. Key metrics such as delivery time, order accuracy, and customer feedback were analyzed. Surveys and interviews were conducted to gather qualitative insights into customer experiences.
Traditional e-commerce platforms consistently outperformed purchasing platforms in terms of delivery speed. Domestic e-commerce platforms like JD.com and Taobao achieved an average delivery time of 2-3 days, while purchasing platforms, particularly those involving international shipping, had an average delivery time of 7-14 days.
In terms of accuracy, e-commerce platforms had fewer cases of incorrect deliveries or missing items compared to purchasing platforms. Miscommunication and customs issues were the primary reasons for errors in purchasing platforms.
The findings suggest that while purchasing platforms offer access to unique or international products, they lag behind traditional e-commerce platforms in logistics performance. Improvements in cross-border logistics infrastructure and better coordination between purchasing agents and shipping companies could enhance the experience for customers.
This study highlights the importance of logistics efficiency in shaping customer satisfaction. E-commerce platforms should continue to innovate in their supply chain management, while purchasing platforms must address challenges in international logistics to remain competitive.
